3-Days Mirik & Kalimpong Itinerary 

Day1: Arrival at NJP/Bagdogra Airport and Journey to Mirik

The journey starts as you reach New Jalpaiguri Railway Station/Bagdogra Airport. From there, hire a car/shared vehicle and drive through the scenic beauty to reach Mirik (2 hours to reach). Along the way, you will see lush green tea gardens, hills, and beautiful valleys. 

Must Visit places in Mirik:

1. Sumendu Lake or Mirik Lake- This lake is the soul of Mirik. Peaceful lake and just ideal for boating, taking some lovely pictures, and enjoying the mountain scenery.

2. Bokar Monastery- A serene Buddhist monastery known for its spiritual ambiance. This monastery is home to numerous monks who practice meditation and Buddhist teachings. Here you can soak yourself in spiritual serenity.

3. Rameetay Dara- This spot is perfect for all those who love to watch the sunset. Nature lovers and photography enthusiasts are going to love this spot. The best time to visit is early in the morning or late afternoon.

4. Tingling Viewpoint- You will see a perfect birds-eye view of green tea gardens. Ideal place to relax and sip a cup of local Darjeeling tea.

Day2: Explore the land of Orchids-Kalimpong

After having breakfast, your journey to Kalimpong will start which is going to take 3-4 hours to reach the destination by road. The drive is through stunning views of the Himalayas, pine forests, and the winding course of the Teesta River through the valley. 

Must Visit Kalimpong Tourist Places:

1. Deolo Hill: The highest mountain in Kalimpong with a marvelous view of the Kanchenjunga range and the Teesta Valley. There are also some viewpoints for the perfect view of the sunrise and sunset.

2. Kalimpong Science Centre: The Kalimpong Science City near Deolo Hill. Children are going to love this spot as there are some learning as well as fun activities (related to science) to do. A science observatory and 3D movie theatre are also present on site.
   

3. Morgan House-  An old colonial-era bungalow with gorgeous architecture. The Morgan house is surrounded by tales of being haunted. It has been converted into a tourist lodge directly maintained by the West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation.

4. Cactus Nursery- A perfect spot for all the Orchid lovers. The nursery has a unique collection of exotic orchids and cacti. It has an immense collection of cacti in Asia. Some species of cactus are also available for purchase.

5. Durpin Monastery(Zang Dhok Palri Phodang)- A centuries-old Tibetan monastery with sacred Buddhist texts, along with breathtaking valley scenery.

6. Mangal Dham Temple- A beautiful temple of Lord Krishna, offering tranquility and spirituality.

In the evening, you can roam around the Kalimpong market. You can shop for some handcrafted as well as woolen items, and also some authentic Himalayan artifacts.  

Day 3: Goodbye Hills and Departure for NJP/Bagdogra Airport

On the final day, get up early, enjoy the fresh mountain air, and have a hearty breakfast with local delights such as Thukpa and Momo. If you have some extra time then visit other remaining sites or you can go for a relaxed stroll around the city. 

By noon, the return trip to NJP or Bagdogra Airport. While coming down, look at the stunning landscape and hold on to the memories of your refreshing trip.

• March To June: The season between spring & summer makes this time perfect for sightseeing with blooming flowers, good weather, and clear skies.

• September To December: This time is best for those tourists who like cold weather. It even stays less crowded during this season.
